About this role
Step Into Friendship: Join Our Wednesday Walking Group!
Love walking, fresh air, and good company? Join our friendly Wednesday morning Walking Group at The Glens at HammondCare in Caulfield and help older people stay active, connected, and engaged.
As a volunteer, you'll enjoy leisurely walks alongside residents, sharing conversation, encouragement, and companionship. Whether you're chatting about life, admiring the gardens, or simply enjoying the outdoors together, your presence can make a meaningful difference to someone's week.
The group departs at approximately 10:00am each Wednesday, and volunteers play an important role in creating a fun, welcoming, and inclusive experience for everyone involved. No special skills are required, just a warm personality, a reasonable level of mobility, and a passion for connecting with people.
Our group of around four residents enjoys getting out for a gentle walk together, and an extra pair of hands would make a wonderful difference.
As a volunteer, you would:
-
Help residents make their way to the foyer ready for the walk
-
Walk alongside residents, offering friendly company and encouragement
-
Help everyone feel included, comfortable and supported
-
Enjoy some fresh air, conversation and connection along the way
Please note: Volunteer interviews and Orientation must take place on a weekday during business hours.
