Job Description

In This Role, Your

Responsibilities

Will Be:

  • Your primary focus will be on enhancing supply chain efficiency by managing and improving New Product development, supplier delivery, quality, lead times, and payment terms.
  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and select suppliers preferably Pressure Die Casting and other commodities like Rubber, Plastics, Machining, Investment Casting, Electrical items & Seals to gain the best quality, cost, and delivery of purchased material consistent with required standards.
  • Conducting E-Sourcing event for major spending commodities and decision making based on Price, supplier capabilities, and performance.
  • Ability to do parts analysis and Identify opportunity for parts localization, Dual Sourcing Strategic initiatives to save cost to achieve the target of Net Material Inflation Index
  • You will collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Supplier Quality Engineering teams to deploy critical initiatives and improve supplier performance.
  • Extend the support for CAPEX-related project negotiations with suppliers.
  • work to drive on-time delivery, reduce lead times, manage costs, and improve the total cost of ownership across the supply chain.
  • Conducts supplier quality management system approval audits to highlight supplier risks within supply chain and work with suppliers to improve processes and procedures to meet the requirements of the audits.
  • Sets Quality targets, monitors, reviews, analyzes supplier performance metrics to determine continuous improvement opportunities with suppliers on Quality but not limited to Process, Cost, and Productivity.
  • Supports new product launches and risk mitigation projects to ensure that suppliers can deliver products/service at the required quality standards.
  • Responsible for immediate action on problems caused by suppliers, identifying the root cause and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions to minimize the impact on the business.
  • Coordinates efforts with other work groups and suppliers in understanding inspection methods/issues.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure guaranteed quality and short lead times for source changes, product transfers, and new product implementation.
  • Performs Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to qualify parts for New Product Development, New supply, and Quality issues.
  • Collaborate on Supplier Performance Business Reviews with other Supply Chain functions to share expectations, strengthen relationships, and charter joint projects to deliver mutual benefits.
  • Build suppliers’ understanding of our technical and performance requirements.
  • Influence design engineers to optimize for Design for Sourcing & Manufacturability in New Product Development
  • Ability to coordinate between suppliers and internal function in new product development through gate meeting review process to get desired results.
  • Prepare Technical Sourcing Review (TSR) for new part development and coordinate with suppliers to ensure the quality requirements.
  • This Role requires travelling within India and stationed near by suppliers location for a longer period of time as well

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Minimum of 5+ years in New Vendor Development in Pressure Die Casting along with maintaining supplier quality and performance management.

  • Excellent computer skills and a technical aptitude that include strong data gathering skills, expertise, interpretation, and reporting for supply chain organization.

  • Sound communication skills to deal with suppliers (domestic and global)

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with expertise in understanding the products and measuring equipment are like CMM, VMM and Projector etc.

  • Preferred

Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • B.E/B Tech in Mechanical or any Equivalent degree

  • Knowledge in Quality standards, and other manufacturing process

  • Ability to manage all inspection equipment and demonstrate to supplier to align testing requirements.
