A Supplier Relationship Manager plays a key role in strengthening our supply network and driving supplier performance and development.

The job is a mix of managing short-term crises, hands-on improvement work and long-term planning to ensure our suppliers perform at their best and continuously evolve with us. All in collaboration with other functions in our supply chain such as purchasing, engineering, quality, production and logistics.

As a VIE in our team you will start with some suppliers of your own as well as learning from and supporting the other SRMs with their portfolios and different tasks. As you learn the job, your portfolio and responsibilities will grow, and you will actively contribute to the development of our team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving supplier performance improvements to ensure suppliers deliver the right products at the right time and the right quantity.
  • Managing critical situations, including leading emergency routines and supporting suppliers in developing robust recovery plans.
  • Working proactively and long-term with our key supplier partners to support their development.
  • Contributing to process development and continuously improving how we work within supplier relationship management.

Your future team

Trucks Technology & Industrial Logistics (TTI Logistics) is a global function responsible for the overall supply chain performance.

Supplier Relationship Management for Cab Over Trucks (SRM COT) is a team of 12 skilled co-workers within TTI Logistics, spread across Europe and bringing diverse backgrounds and perspectives

Our mission is to improve supplier performance for all Volvo receivers, and we believe customer success is a shared responsibility between Volvo and our supplier partners. The work is done together with purchasing, operational teams, and our external supplier partners.

To succeed in this position, we believe you have a selection of the following skills/qualities:

  • Experience and/or degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics or Purchasing
  • Strong networking skills, with ability to build win-win relationships.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Fluent business English, both written and spoken
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, preferably with some proven problem-solving abilities
  • Data literacy, interest in our digital future, with the curiosity and skills needed to support our journey toward smarter ways of working
  • Prioritization skills, with the ability to manage day-to-day work across a diverse portfolio
