Job title: Supplier Quality Engineer
About the Role Supplier Quality Engineer will interface with development and supplier engineering to provide materials and components for company product manufacturing. The role involves communicating product specifications to suppliers, assessing their ability to meet engineering and quality requirements, evaluating suppliers’ internal functions, and qualifying suppliers according to company standards. The role may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to drive cost effectiveness, monitor parts through the manufacturing cycle, resolve supplier-related problems, and develop an auditing schedule to ensure GMP and quality standards are met.
What You'll Do
- Interface with development and supplier engineering to provide materials and components for company product manufacturing.
- Communicate product specifications to suppliers and assess their ability to meet engineering and quality requirements.
- Evaluate suppliers’ internal functions to assess their overall performance and provide feedback in assessment of their operation.
- Qualify suppliers according to company standards and may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness.
- Monitor parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicate and resolve supplier-related problems as they occur.
- Develop and prioritize an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure GMP and quality standards are met.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in supplier quality engineering or supplier development.
- Ability to communicate product specifications and assess supplier capability to meet engineering and quality requirements.
- Experience evaluating supplier internal functions and providing constructive feedback.
- Familiarity with GMP and receiving inspection processes, certified supplier programs.
- Experience monitoring supplier parts through acquisition to manufacturing and resolving supplier-related problems.
- Ability to develop and manage supplier audits to ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards.
