Job title: Supplier Quality Engineer
About the Role The Supplier Quality Engineer for Southeast Asia (SEA) based in Bangkok, Thailand, will own supplier quality for the region, drive supplier improvement with the Global Commodity Sourcing team, manage supplier data and surveillance, and oversee supplier risk and scorecards.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of supplier quality improvement and drive closure of quality improvement plans.
- Lead supplier transition activities to ensure smooth handover and consistent production and quality.
- Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization and contribute to Watts's supplier quality management process.
- Conduct audits and manage SCARs to ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed on time.
- Audit and evaluate suppliers' internal processes for compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements (including sub-suppliers); provide feedback to sourcing to improve operations.
- Develop supplier-related quality metrics for periodic executive reviews.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of Quality and Engineering experience, with at least 5 years as an SQE; preferably in a foreign company/export/valve/automotive-related field.
- Understanding of UL, NSF, WQA would be preferred.
- Solid experience with new project development/management and supplier audits; strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English; local language a plus.
- Familiar with metal components processes (forging, casting, machining); valve manufacturing experience preferred.
- Skilled in audits; familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ESG, etc.
- Good knowledge of quality tools (APQP, PPAP, 8D, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Based in Thailand and willing to travel.
