Job title: Supplier Quality Engineer
About the Role We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to manage a portfolio of suppliers and serve as the main point of contact between suppliers and Medline Corporate QA and Shanghai Office QA. The role focuses on maintaining and improving supplier QMS and quality performance across the supply base.
What You'll Do
- Manage a bucket of suppliers and act as the main point of contact between suppliers and Corporate QA and Shanghai Office QA.
- Monitor suppliers' maintenance of QMS through vigilance audits with primary focus on P&PC and quality control.
- Support/Drive suppliers to build their master process validation plan and monitor execution progress; coordinate and manage non-conformities with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Direct and collaborate with supplier representatives on quality issues (complaints, rejections, findings, etc.), ensure timely CAPA/SCAR actions and contribute to supplier quality improvement programs.
- Work with suppliers on CAPA follow ups as results of QSR and SA audits.
- Keep track of suppliers' overall capacity and our volume purchased from them.
- Work with broader Quality Organization to establish and maintain supplier ratings and execute programs to improve ratings of assigned suppliers when needed.
- Coordinate supplier change requests from initiation to completion, including standardizing initiation, leading/reviewing to assess impact on product quality and QMS; transition QA/QC knowledge from QE to SQE, transfer documents from development to mass production, hold pre-production meetings to align inspection attributes, and train QCs and production personnel.
- Identify and implement improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness of supplier quality engineering and supplier quality management programs.
- Work with QC/QA to optimize product inspection criteria with LEAN and effective quality inspection purpose.
- Complete other tasks assigned by supervisor or supplier quality manager.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor degree in engineering field; 3+ years’ experience in supplier quality management; experience in the medical device industry is a plus.
- Good communication skills in English and Mandarin; team spirit, integrity, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.
- Proven learning and adaptation capability.
Nice to Have
- Lean/continuous improvement experience
- Experience with CAPA/SCAR, QSR and SA audits (desirable)
