Supplier Quality Engineer

Location (Hybrid, permanent/full-time): Hefei

What are your main tasks you can expect?

• 1. Evaluate new suppliers from a technical perspective using the VDA 6.3 standard and provide procurement recommendations;
• 2. Develop and implement onboarding plans for new and existing suppliers to drive improvements in their operational performance;
• 3. Utilize product and process audit tools to fully support the SQA team in enhancing supplier performance and responsiveness to quality requirements;
• 4. Execute supplier project management in collaboration with cross-functional teams by establishing master plans and key performance indicators to ensure deliverables are completed on time. Responsibilities include project tracking, risk analysis, timely communication, and leading or participating in special task forces;
• 5. Lead cross-functional teams responsible for designated product areas, including but not limited to evaluating the technical capabilities of new and existing suppliers, organizing technical workshops, and resolving on-site supplier issues;
• 6. Take the lead in handling key suppliers and critical issues, urging suppliers to analyze root causes and implement effective corrective actions, including developing recommendations for improvement and tracking implementation plans;
• 7. Coordinate the management of the company’s system documentation and policy documents;
• 8. Collaborate closely with departments such as Procurement, R&D, and Production to jointly drive supplier quality improvement initiatives;
• 9. Lead activities related to supplier improvement and termination to ensure stable quality delivery;
• 10. Conduct preliminary development for the localization of platform components (commercial vehicles) and VAVE, perform reliability comparison verification, and ensure stable mass production.

What qualifications do you bring with you?

• 1. Proficiency in quality standards and tools such as IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA, as well as 8D problem-solving skills;
• 2. Experience in evaluating supplier manufacturing capabilities through feasibility studies and the APQP process;
• 3. Ability to develop supplier process improvement tools, and to lead and initiate technical workshops to evaluate suppliers’ technical and manufacturing practices;
• 4. Strong personal and interpersonal skills, including proactive communication, presentation skills, prioritization, teamwork, holistic thinking, high flexibility, and strong independence;
• 5. Good spoken and written English skills
