Job title: Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer 1
About the Role The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer 1 at LGES – HONDA Joint Venture in Jeffersonville, OH ensures components meet established quality standards (reliability, usability, performance) and supports manufacturing quality assurance, including failure investigations and root-cause analysis. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with Production, Purchasing, and Suppliers to discuss and resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Understand Supplier and Manufacturing functional requirements
- Actively monitor process capability and provide feedback on process improvement
- Conduct inspection and cause analysis on incoming material and non-conforming product issues in a timely manner
- Manage rejected products, material, and equipment that do not meet specifications
- Work with cross-functional teams to expedite complex problem resolution, countermeasure implementation, and problem prevention recurrence
- Master test equipment operation to complete in-depth analysis
- Perform supplier audits, PPAP, and 4M design changes
- Monitor supplier process capabilities and promote solutions through in-depth assessments
- Interface with customers to provide high quality and service; Lead or assist in New Model Development approval processes
- Ensure compliance with Health/Safety/Environmental/Fire regulations
- Promote a quality-focused, collaborative work environment and maintain 5S standards
- Perform other duties/projects as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- 0 to 3+ years of manufacturing-related experience; automotive environment preferred but not required
- Experience in a Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering role is a plus
- Knowledge/skills: battery production knowledge a plus; IATF16949 a plus; Minitab, Six Sigma, 8D problem solving a plus; excellent communication skills; critical thinking and analytical problem solving; self-motivation; ability to multitask; Microsoft Office and Minitab proficiency; bilingual Korean/English or multilingual
