Job title: Supervisor, Vegetation Management
About the Role Entergy's Supervisor, Vegetation Management is responsible for planning, implementing, and executing all vegetation-related activities within assigned jurisdictions, while leading safety and operations for internal staff and external contractors and helping drive the broader Power Delivery VM program.
What You'll Do
- Lead daily supervision of internal staff across assigned jurisdiction(s) (up to 14 Vegetation Operations Coordinators) and manage the vegetation work plan with Power Delivery leadership.
- Oversee contract management with multiple vendors (up to 500 employees regularly; up to several thousand during major restoration events) and coordinate resource sharing across jurisdictions.
- Manage program budget (up to $40M O&M) and support achievement of annual targets; monitor reliability performance and implement improvement plans.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, regulatory groups, and internal design/engineering/construction teams; ensure adherence to Entergy Safe Work Rules Manual and safety programs.
- Support safety, incident response, and storm restoration activities; be on-call 24 hours for incident response.
- Promote technology initiatives and path-to-premiere initiatives within Power Delivery vegetation management; communicate plans and progress to internal customers; participate in process improvement teams.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and development plans for internal staff.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in a related field (Arborist, Horticulturalist preferred) or equivalent work experience; 5-7 years in a related field.
- Preferred: With a 4-year degree in Forestry or related field, 8+ years electric utility vegetation management or related experience; Without a degree, 10+ years.
- Knowledge/abilities: Computer proficiency; knowledge of FAC-003 NERC standards and regulatory responsibilities; ability to perform field-related functions for extended hours in varying terrains.
- Certifications: Arborist or Utility Arborist License/Certification preferred or obtainable within 1 year.
- Additional: 5 years of field operations experience; strong contractor oversight; ability to travel 25-50% and work extended hours; on-call availability; strong conflict resolution and communication skills.
