Job title: Supervisor of Warehouse Operations
About the Role The Supervisor of Warehouse Operations will lead demand execution and fulfillment to ensure material readiness for projects across the designated region, and optimize cost-efficient logistics to meet deadlines. They oversee supply chain experts responsible for material planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, project management, and contract management, and will create integrated processes across Operations, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Logistics, and external suppliers. The role focuses on continuous improvement of material movement, establishes KPIs for supply chain planning, and requires 25-50% travel to field and corporate offices across the enterprise.
What You'll Do
- Safety/Human Performance: Act as safety leader for the team; leverage tools such as Close Call/Good Catch reporting, field observations, coaching, and field visits to drive adherence to safety standards. Facilitate monthly safety meetings with direct reports and communicate key topics from the Safety Advisory Board. Oversee site safety, housekeeping, required training, and field audits. Provide recommendations to enhance safety manual policy and ensure alignment with safety protocols. Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve safety metrics and targets.
- Demand Execution, Fulfillment, and Logistics: Analyze material trends and seasonality; execute demand plans aligning purchasing, inventory, labor, and logistics to ensure materials are available at the right time, quantity, and location. Optimize inventory to meet material needs and ensure cost-efficient utilization of logistics services to fulfill project material needs. Mitigate material risk in selecting and utilizing transportation and other services to meet project commitments, including coordination across multiple state operations and environmental services.
- Inventory & Warehouse Management: Oversee supply chain experts to prioritize resources and reliably meet project deadlines; optimize inventory levels for material availability and project fulfillment. Serve as the regional materials management leader, ensuring materials are available to fulfill critical project commitments within the designated area and mitigate material risk. Ensure capacity planning aligns supply with demand forecasts; collaborate cross-functionally to maintain accurate material levels and availability. Optimize warehouses and laydown areas for material accessibility. Implement inventory management strategies including cycle counting, ABC analysis, and just-in-time (JIT) principles.
- Project Management: Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to forecast material requirements, execute demand plans, and mitigate supply chain disruptions. Use ERP systems and other tools to track material consumption, monitor project progress, and generate reports. Develop and implement materials management strategies to support cross-functional projects; lead to ensure material readiness to meet stakeholder deadlines, requiring collaboration across logistics, procurement, suppliers, engineering, and customers.
- Budget and Cost Prudency: Manage the day-to-day operations budget and associated costs within the designated area. Provide analytical support for departmental budget development and monitor contract labor, time and labor, as well as contract and purchase requisitions. Collaborate with leadership on annual budget development and ensure adherence to the approved budget while managing all assigned departmental functions.
- Customer Service: Proactively engage with stakeholders to collaborate on demand forecasting and analyze material trends to aid in executing demand plans. Partner with stakeholders to review material readiness and cost efficiency measures to meet project requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Experience leading supply chain, logistics, and materials management activities in complex project environments.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze demand plans, manage inventory, and coordinate across warehouses, procurement, suppliers, and transportation services.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of supervising supply chain professionals and working cross-functionally.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and data analysis to track consumption, forecast needs, and generate reports.
- Ability to travel 25-50% to field and corporate offices across the enterprise.
- Knowledge of safety leadership and implementation of safety programs within a warehouse or field environment.
