Job Description

  • We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Supervisor-Horticulture to oversee the daily maintenance and development of gardens, lawns, trees, ornamental plants, and landscaped areas.
  • The successful candidate will supervise horticultural staff, ensure high-quality plant care, and maintain attractive, healthy, and well-organized outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily horticultural and landscaping activities.
  • Oversee planting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, weeding, and pest/disease control.
  • Monitor the health and growth of plants, trees, lawns, and ornamental gardens.
  • Lead, train, and allocate duties to gardeners and horticultural workers.
  • Prepare work schedules and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Maintain proper use and care of gardening tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Identify plant diseases, pests, and environmental issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Monitor irrigation systems and ensure efficient water management.
  • Maintain accurate records of plants, materials, equipment, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Assist with landscape improvement projects, seasonal planting, and garden development.
  • Prepare reports and provide recommendations to management.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Landscaping, Botany, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in horticulture, landscaping, gardening, or a similar supervisory role.

  • Strong knowledge of plant care, irrigation, pruning, fertilization, and pest management.

  • Previous experience supervising and managing a horticultural team.

  • Good communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work outdoors and handle physically demanding tasks when required.

  • Ability to operate or supervise the use of horticultural tools and equipment.
