Job Summary
- Ensure all outward telegraphic transfers are processed completely, according to customer request while observing all policies, regulations, and controls.
- Ensure all cases of reported delayed or non-receipt of OTT are promptly investigated and resolved.
- Ensure that ITT’s which cannot be processed due to incomplete / non-receipt of disposal instructions are promptly investigated.
- Ensure that foreign currency clearing is done in accordance with laid down policies and procedures in a safe and controlled environment without losses.
- Ensure all outstanding items on the Nostro / Suspense related to international transfers are promptly investigated and resolved.
- To ensure “end to end “processing of STS Cheques adhering to all policies and procedures and maintaining quality service.
Key Responsibilities
Payments:
- Liaise with Team Lead on decisions regarding daily operational activities relating to International Payment transactions in compliance with operational procedures and regulatory controls.
- Processing of all foreign currency clearing transactions in compliance with operational procedures and regulatory controls.
- To conduct call-back confirmation for all OTT transactions processed in the unit in line with call-back procedures and to conduct 2nd level call-back confirmation for branch transactions in accordance with the transaction amount limits and subject to delegated authority limit.
- Ensure timely processing of all outward payments to the GBS processing team checking that all relevant details have been accurately captured on DOTOPAL both the manual regulatory and N-STP S2B payments.
- Review and treat scanned OTT instructions on RCP.
- Follow up with GBS Chennai to ensure that responses are sent out for all enquiries and chasers regarding OTT.
- Undertake all Key Control Reviews.
- Ensure full understanding of all relevant policies and procedures especially the CBN FX document to ensure there are not breaches or exceptions.
- Assisting the Lead, Cross border payments and Head of Cash Management Operations on Recovery strategies (DR & BCP).
- Work with Team Lead, Cross border payments to coordinate the Evacuation Process, roll call, compliance to departmental responsibilities as defined in the Departmental BC.
Service:
- Communicate with branches to ensure speedy forwarding of OTT documents to meet the standard processing deadlines.
- Provide appropriate support to the product programs initiated by Corporate and Institutional Banking and Wealth and Retail Banking.
- Ensure adequate communication between the department and both internal and external customers.
- Ensure all client transactions and queries are handled promptly and confirmed to both client and the relationship team.
- Investigation (Nostro / Suspense Accounts).
- Daily review of outstanding Items on Nostro reconciliation, ensuring that there are no outstanding Items over 1 days.
- Escalate all items outstanding over 3 days.
- Review and ensure that all outstanding items on all payment suspense account are closed timely. Ensure no outstanding Items beyond the approved life span of the respective accounts.
Others:
- Provides input to the development and enhancement of Cross border payment products especially as it relates to systems and procedures.
- Reviews internal systems to seek ways of improving processes to ensure smooth workflows are achieved.
- Seek opportunities for improvement of workflow to improve client service experience and reduce costs.
- Performing other duties as may be assigned by manager.
- Assist Info Tech and Ops to create and maintain a compliance culture through sample testing of compliance monitoring undertaken as RP, training, periodic self-assessments, generating accurate and timely reports, compliance monitoring plan, assessment of regulatory risks and ensure that controls exist to mitigate them.
- Assist the compliance function by communicating effectively internal policies / guidelines and regulatory requirements, proactively alerting compliance issues, implementing departmental operating instructions to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements and coordinate in regulatory inspections.
Money Laundering:
- Ensure to remain alert to the risk of money laundering and assist in the bank’s effort in combating it by adhering to the key principles in relation to: “identifying our customer, reporting suspicious transactions, safeguarding records and not disclosing suspicions to customers to protect both customers and banks’ interest.
- Follow up with the Sanction team handling for both FCY Outward Telegraphic Transfer and FCY Inward Telegraphic Transfers.

Requirements
- Certifications / Qualifications
- Degree plus 3 years banking experience.
- Languages.
- English Language.

- Excellent written and verbal communications.
- Good analytical skills to analyse, interpret, resolve and change workflow and improve productivity.
- Ability to identify, analyse and manage operation risks.
Other Skills:
- Good PC skills - word processing and spreadsheets / PowerPoint.
- Adaptable and flexible Independent and innovative.
Key Experiences:
- Thorough knowledge of Central bank of Nigeria foreign exchange Manual and associated regulations / and In-depth knowledge of SCB’s Payment policy manual and swift standards.
