Job title: Superintendent
About the Role As a Superintendent with Kiewit Foundations Co., you will directly manage field operations on deep foundation projects, leading craft teams and ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and cost performance. You will apply a strong technical and practical background in specialty foundations and geotechnical construction while partnering with field engineering and project leadership to deliver North America's largest and most unique projects.
What You'll Do
- Provide supervisory direction of craft workers via the general foreman and foreman, managing productivity, safety, quality and schedule adherence for Deep Foundation projects (jet grouting, rigid inclusions, soil mixing, vibro-replacement, vibro-compaction, etc.)
- Liaison between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance of construction drawings and specifications
- Coordinate with other superintendents, subcontractors, and Kiewit staff to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence
- Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate
- Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements
- Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed (safety, attendance, workplace behavior) per company policies
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in planning, scheduling, and management of ground improvement operations
- 5+ years of supervisory experience as a superintendent
- Experience with ground improvement equipment (drills, concrete pumps, batch plants) and ability to troubleshoot
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: jet grouting, rigid inclusions, soil mixing, vibro-replacement (stone columns), vibro-compaction, compaction grouting, permeation grouting, and deep dynamic compaction
- Self-starter, highly motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to quickly learn and understand Kiewit’s policies, procedures, and software programs
- Ability to identify and resolve problems; excellent organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Compensation: $130,000/yr - $170,000/yr (USD)
