Summer Placement - Civil Engineer 2027 We're looking for a Summer Placement Civil Engineer Student to join our Infrastructure team. You will be working on our Hinkley Point project, in the South West which is a part of our nuclear sector.

Location: Kier Main Compound, Off A12, Kelsale, Suffolk

Starting Salary: £27,976 per annum

Pathway: 8 Weeks– 40hrs per week . Potential to move onto the Graduate Scheme

Starting date: July 2027

What will you be responsible for?

As a Summer Placement Civil Engineer , you'll be working within the Water team assisting in the planning & coordination, design & management of the project and on-site activities. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and develop a strong foundation in quantity surveying.

What will your day-to-day duties include?

• Assisting in the planning, execution, and management of projects relevant to your field of study.
• Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to support project objectives.
• Conducting research and analysis to inform project decisions and strategies.
• Preparing reports, presentations, and documentation related to project activities.
• Participating in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving and decision-making processes.

When you join, you will be enrolled onto our summer placement scheme. The programme will take 8 weeks to complete and has been designed to immerse yourself in the world of construction, you'll get to see your learnings in real world situations and gain practical experiences to support the rest of your degree.

What are we looking for?

We're on the lookout for students undertaking a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, who can join us on an 8-week placement across July - August. You must be returning to university upon completion of your placement.

• Demonstrates a genuine interest in pursuing a career in civil engineering and the construction industry, with clear motivation to learn and develop professionally.
• Demonstrates analytical and critical thinking to assess situations and problem solve with strong attention to detail.
• Shows enthusiasm for learning new skills and knowledge, and the ability to adapt in response to feedback.
• Works effectively as part of a team, demonstrating collaboration, reliability, and respect for others.
• Hold a full UK driver license.
