Skills and Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams on people- and project-oriented work
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve analytic processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
  • Familiarity using off-the-shelf AI models and tools and an eagerness to explore their practical applications in a professional setting
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in improving digital tools and platforms, including collecting and synthesizing user feedback.
  • Familiarity with data visualization or productivity platforms such as Power BI, enterprise dashboards, or similar reporting tools is a plus
  • Exposure to project management concepts or methodologies is preferred

Education

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, applied mathematics, quantitative economics, data science, computer science or a related field. Social science majors with some quantitative coursework are also encouraged to apply
  • Graduation date of December 2028 – June 2029
  • Ability to work during program dates: June 7th - August 13th 2027

Responsibilities

Support Moody's Credit Strategy & Guidance (CS&G) digitization journey by contributing to the creation and improvement of digital workflow solutions and AI-powered tools at various stages of the product development lifecycle and project coordination activities over the summer. Specifically, the intern can:

  • Assist in the maintenance, performance monitoring and enhancement of PowerBI dashboards

  • Conduct structured user acceptance testing and synthesize user insights into actionable recommendations for improvement of dashboards, applications and AI-powered tools

  • Support project coordination activities across the team's digitization and AI initiatives, helping track deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder communications

  • Research off-the-shelf AI models and tools, evaluating potential use cases and applicability to CS&G's analytical and operational workflows

  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues across Ratings & Research, Technology, and Research teams on people-focused, project-driven tasks under close guidance

  • About the Team

  • The Digitalization & Analytical Tools team, a sub-team of Digital Content, Data & Analytics (DCDA) within Credit Strategy & Guidance (CS&G), is principally responsible for leading Moody's digitization journey -from building enterprise-level dashboards and Power BI solutions to enabling AI-powered tools that transform how analytical work gets done. The team sits at the intersection of people, process, and technology, partnering closely with colleagues across Moody's Ratings, Technology, and Research to help teams work smarter through modern digital tools and innovative workflows. By joining as a Summer Intern, you will be immersed in hands-on, meaningful work at the forefront of how Moody's is evolving its analytical capabilities through artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

  • Moody's 10-week summer internship program is a premier opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a hands-on learning experience, guided by Moody's commitment to integrity, excellence, and insight. The program takes place each summer from June – August and positions are available for undergraduate and select graduate students. Internships are full-time, offering a comprehensive view of Moody's business and culture, and a chance to build professional and technical skills. Programmatic elements include networking, mentorship, leadership speaker series and volunteering events. Interns complete project work determined by their team that have real impact, fostering a sense of accomplishment and professional growth. Throughout the internship, participants receive mentorship from Moody's professionals, gaining insights into diverse career paths and cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the company. Networking events and workshops further enrich the experience, providing a platform for professional development and collaboration.
