About the Role Jones Day Tokyo Office offers a Summer Associate Program for law students to gain hands-on experience in corporate law and exposure to the office’s practice areas. The Firm also runs the New Lawyers Group to support newly-qualified lawyers as they transition into practice and integrate into the Firm. What You'll Do
- Summer associates get immersed in the Firm’s distinct "One Firm Worldwide" culture, and work on substantive assignments while gaining broad exposure to the office’s practice areas, lawyers, and staff.
- New Lawyers Group participants will engage in cross-practice collaboration, training, and networking, including attendance at the New Lawyer Academy in Washington, DC. What We're Looking For
- For Summer Associate: students from Japanese law schools in their final year who are eligible to participate in the program during the Tokyo Office summer.
- For New Lawyers Group: newly-qualified Japanese-licensed lawyers (bengoshi) who have completed legal apprenticeship or shihoshushu and will be part of the Group for about a year before joining a practice. Compensation & Benefits
