About this role

The Suicide Prevention Coordinator is responsible for implementing project deliverables of the multi-year Garrett Lee Smith Youth Suicide Prevention grant as well as other Connect™ suicide prevention and postvention training opportunities. They will work closely with project partners, key stakeholders, and collaborators, and will oversee a comprehensive and coordinated cross-systems approach to identifying and referring at-risk youth and young adults; improving access to care and referral pathways; and leveraging current statewide initiatives to build capacity for suicide prevention and early intervention. This role is responsible for ensuring the goals/objectives of the project are accomplished and utilizing evaluation results for systems-level and project improvements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide overall coordination of the project.

  • Maintain relationships with project partners and key stakeholders.

  • Responsible for project implementation and contract oversight.

  • Oversee project partners ensuring deadlines and contract deliverables are met.

  • Ensure delivery of all training activities in accordance with the project deliverables and timeline.

  • Collect data, narratives, and report on the project for SAMHSA and supervisor.

  • Attend all national and regional SAMHSA and related meetings as required.

  • Ensure successful implementation of training and project milestones.

  • Maintain interface with project evaluators and oversight on project data.

  • Conduct training to stakeholders and collaborators as needed.

  • Ensure project aligns with SAMHSA’s Strategic Priorities.

  • While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration/health, Social Sciences, or other related field.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in suicide prevention and mental health.

  • Minimum of three years of experience in project coordination.

  • Experience in training delivery, especially to youth and young adult audiences.

  • Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills and experience handling federally funded or large-scale grants. • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills with experience in Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
