Job title: Substitute Teacher - The Children's School
About the Role The Children’s School at Villanova University is seeking a call-in substitute teacher to support preschool and kindergarten classes as needed. This role creates a learning environment where young children can learn and develop across social, emotional, cognitive, and physical domains through meaningful experiences.
What You'll Do
- Promote, plan for, and encourage children’s play.
- Provide balanced instruction addressing intellectual, social/emotional, and physical development in a structured yet flexible environment.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning activities aligned with current thematic units.
- Prepare materials for activities and connect children to resources that support their learning.
- Model, assist, and encourage participation in a variety of activities to support children’s growth.
- Support coverage of classes on a call-in basis; hours will vary.
What We're Looking For
- Certification in early childhood education (preschool/kindergarten).
- Ability to create a positive, developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.
- Flexible and adaptable to a call-in schedule; capable of working without rigid structure when needed.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills with colleagues, families, and children.
