Substation Engineer
Job Description: Summary: You will have the ability to manage and engineer Electrical and Structural Substation (Physical) projects involving electrical layouts, grounding, conduit, and foundation plans of new and existing facilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Engineer and review electrical drawings, electric one-lines, plan and profile drawings, grounding, conduit, foundation, and vendor drawings as necessary to facilitate the design and construction of substation facilities.
- Prepare and compile Bill of Materials, Instructions to Foreman, and work order package for processing in SAP
- Prepare and coordinate the ordering and fabrication of standard and non-standard project material.
- Perform project management functions associated with contract engineering resources.
- Attend kickoff meetings and other site visits to support project work and constructability issues.
- Support the construction, operation, and maintenance of substation infrastructure through effective communication with field personnel and contractors.
- Manage multiple projects involving customers, contractors, and internal departments.
- Interface with inspectors, engineers, construction personnel, warehousing personnel, purchasing agents, vendors and management regarding materials and standards development, procurement, and packaging issues.
- Produce and maintain reports on Engineer/Construction Project and take action to expedite construction schedules.
- Mentor newer staff regarding design practices.
- Complete special projects related to emerging technologies, regulatory mandates and new philosophies as assigned.
- Provide support for internal task committees as required.
- Perform substation facility line ratings applying internal methodologies.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required.
