Job title: Subject Matter Expert (SME)
About the Role Subject Matter Expert (SME) to own end-to-end proposal lifecycle for automotive digital solutions, lead technical strategy for pursuits, and evangelize next-gen technologies such as SDV, GenAI, ADAS, and EV/BMS platforms. This role also focuses on system-level software architecture for automotive domains, ensuring secure, safe, and scalable solutions across multiple vehicle lines, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver winning bids.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end proposal lifecycle — from RFI/RFQ analysis and technical solutioning to high-quality bid submissions and customer presentations.
- Lead technical strategy for pursuits — shape winning solutions, defend proposals, and ensure competitive differentiation across OEM and Tier-1 engagements.
- Identify, incubate and evangelize next-gen automotive technologies including SDV, GenAI, ADAS, and EV/BMS platforms to position the organization at the forefront.
- Drive AI solutions & automation across the phases bringing optimum Time to Market and cost benefits.
- Apply system thinking, technical decision making, stakeholder communication, mentoring & leadership; act as a technical authority across teams: System engineering, Software development, Hardware, Validation & test.
- Define end-to-end software architecture for automotive systems (ECU, domain, zonal, centralized/SDV).
- Translate vehicle-level requirements into software, middleware, and hardware abstractions.
- Select appropriate architectural patterns: SOA, Event driven architecture, Layered architecture (HAL, BSW, Middleware, Application).
- Design scalable and reusable software platforms across vehicle lines.
- Extensively worked in one of many areas ADAS / Powertrain / Infotainment and Clusters/Classic and Body/ Diagnostics/ Platform Autosar - Classic / Adaptive.
- Define Classic AUTOSAR or Adaptive AUTOSAR architecture based on use case.
- BSW configuration (MCAL, ECU Abstraction, Services).
- Service discovery, POSIX OS integration, SOME/IP, DDS.
- Cybersecurity Architecture (ISO/SAE 21434).
- Define secure software architecture: Secure boot, Secure OTA, Key management.
- Architect systems to meet ASIL (A–D) requirements: HARA (Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment), Safety concept development (Functional & Technical).
- Apply safety mechanisms: Watchdogs, Redundancy, Memory protection, Safe state handling.
- Tools: Exposure to various tool chains from Systems engineering, Development, HIL/MIL/SIL Simulators, debuggers and tracers.
- Languages & platforms: C/C++, Python, Model-based design (MATLAB/Simulink – architectural level).
- Automotive networking (CAN, LIN, CAN FD, 10/100 Base-T1, Ethernet, TSN, FlexRay, etc).
- Functional safety (ISO 26262) & cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434).
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in automotive systems architecture and software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in C/C++, Python; Model-based design (MATLAB/Simulink).
- Knowledge of automotive networking protocols (CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Ethernet, TSN, SOME/IP, DDS).
- Experience with AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive; ability to architect for ASIL levels; Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA); Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434).
- Familiarity with automotive safety and security concepts and tools; ability to navigate multi-domain engineering teams.
- Exposure to toolchains used in Systems engineering, HIL/MIL/SIL, debuggers and tracers.
- Experience across automotive domains such as ADAS, Powertrain, Infotainment, Clusters, Body, Diagnostics or Platform software.
- Education and/or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
