Life in this role

As part of our, Transport Logistics division, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Sub Contract Planner.

Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum, depending on experience

Shift: Monday to Friday, 08.00-18.00

As a Sub-Contract Planner, you will coordinate subcontracted transport operations, ensuring loads are allocated efficiently, costs are accurately managed, and service levels are maintained. You'll work closely with hauliers and internal teams to support the smooth running of the transport operation.

Key Duties of a Sub Contract Planner:

• Plan and allocate set lanes to hauliers.
• Rate jobs on GTS and ensure haulier costs are correct.
• Advertise work on TWS system.
• Arrange live loads for hauliers.
• Complete jobs on GTS to allow for Stobart invoicing.
• Implement subcontract strategy based on forecasted volumes.
• Manage haulier issues and communicate these to Stobart departments such as CS, central and planning.
• Update hauliers documents to ensure 100% legal compliance.
• Report POD discrepancies and returns that may arise to reduce the company’s liability of losses.
• Take on additional work from 3rd party hauliers to reduce empty running on Stobart Fleet.
• Support Central Team as required.

Qualifications

• What you’ll need ...

• Previous experience within a similar role.

• Knowledge of the Logistics and Transport industry.

• Knowledge of GTS is desirable.

• Demonstrable planning and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communicator, with a strong knowledge of Microsoft systems.

• Able to work under pressure and collaborating with a range of departments across the business, from Planning through to Forecasting.

• IT Literate including Microsoft word, excel and outlook.
