Job title: Student Worker/Tutor
About the Role Campus Tutors in The Learning Center at LIU Post provide support to students in understanding course material, preparing for exams, and developing time management and study strategies. This position supports Fall 2025 – Spring 2026, requires a strong background in core subjects and a minimum GPA of 3.2 with faculty or department chair recommendation.
What You'll Do
- Tutor LIU students in English, Philosophy, Political Science, History, Psychology, laboratory science, Math, Economics, Accounting, and Finance to help understand material and prepare for exams.
- Assist students with time management, organization, and study strategies.
- Work up to 12 hours per week in The Learning Center on the Library Main Floor.
- Complete an employment application and submit an updated resume as part of the onboarding process.
What We're Looking For
- LIU student enrolled in an active degree program.
- Minimum 3.2 GPA and faculty or department chair recommendation for the courses you want to tutor.
- Strong background in listed core subjects and ability to tutor with clear communication.
- Availability to work during posted hours (Mon-Thu 9am–5pm; Fri 10am–4pm) on campus.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
Compensation & Benefits
- Rate of pay: $17 per hour.
- Flexible hours: Monday – Thursday 9 am to 5 pm; Friday 10 am to 4 pm.
