Job title: Student Worker Chemistry Lab Assistant
About the Role The Student Worker Chemistry Lab Assistant supports the chemistry lab activities for LIU's Natural Sciences courses on the Post Campus. The role involves preparing, setting up, and cleaning laboratory materials, assisting instructors and students during lab classes, and handling chemical waste disposal to maintain a safe and efficient learning environment.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, set up, and clean up chemicals, equipment, and glassware for use in lab classes.
- Manage the collection and storage of chemical waste generated during lab classes.
- Prepare unknown samples for student analysis.
- Assist the lab instructor and students during lab sessions.
What We're Looking For
- LIU student enrolled in an active degree program.
- Willingness and ability to develop specialized skills in the proper preparation of chemicals and lab instruments; commitment to using appropriate PPE and lab safety equipment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $17 per hour (minimum hourly rate).
