Job title: Student Worker - 3D Printing Lab
About the Role We are seeking student workers to assist in the 3D area of the Studio Art department, focusing on the newly created 3D printing lab. The role involves helping students print projects and overseeing/maintaining the 3D printers. The position is in-person for up to 5 hours per week for the duration of the semester, with potential renewal.
What You'll Do
- Help other students print their projects and oversee/maintain the 3D printers (2 Creality Enders and 1 Prusa MK3).
- Clean up and organize room 063 in Venturi as needed.
- Track and record hours, maintain a consistent schedule, and communicate issues to the 3D professor.
- Assist with basic printer troubleshooting and supply management (e.g., filament replacement).
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience with 3D printing, including preparing models for printing (slicing), basic digital 3D modeling, replacing filament, and troubleshooting.
- Self-driven and proactive in learning.
- Ability to work up to 5 hours per week, in person, for the duration of the semester, with reliable communication to the 3D professor.
Nice to Have
- Experience with the printers in use: 2 Creality Enders and 1 Prusa MK3.
Compensation & Benefits
- $15.00 per hour
