Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled as a student at the college and eligible for student employment.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service in a professional, courteous, and student-centered manner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with FERPA and institutional policies.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams), and the ability to learn new software and technology systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to research information and refer students to appropriate campus resources.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to work scheduled hours reliably, including occasional evenings or special events, if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service, reception, call center, or office experience.
- Experience using student information systems, customer relationship management (CRM) software, or document management systems.
- Familiarity with college policies, procedures, and student support services.
Summary of Duties Student employment provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience while supporting campus programs and services In this position, the student will
- Serve as a primary point of contact for students, providing timely, accurate, and student-centered support through in-person, telephone, live chat, email, and outreach communications.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment by assisting students in the Gateway lobby, responding to inquiries, providing information, and connecting students with appropriate campus resources and services.
- Utilize institutional systems, knowledge resources, and communication tools to research and resolve student questions, document interactions, and maintain accurate records while ensuring compliance with FERPA and confidentiality requirements.
- Support daily operations by utilizing student information systems, customer relationship management tools, document management systems, and Microsoft applications to deliver efficient, responsive, and high-quality service that promotes student success and engagement.
