Job title: Student Day at the Capitol Participant (Grade 7-12)

About the Role The Student Day at the Capitol is an in-person educational program for students in grades 7-12 to learn about the political process and pro-life advocacy. It includes educational sessions on abortion, current legislation, the legislative process, and lobbying, with an afternoon option to meet legislators and tour the Capitol in St. Paul on select spring dates.

What You'll Do

  • Attend educational sessions covering abortion, current legislation, the legislative process, how to lobby elected officials, and more.
  • In the afternoon, meet with your legislators to advocate for life and discuss issues with pro-life elected officials.
  • Tour the Capitol and hear from pro-life leaders and officials.
  • Register to attend on one of the available dates (March 20, April 17, or April 24) and participate from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Enjoy adult supervision provided by MCCL during the event; lunch is available via a nominal $20 suggested donation per person.

What We're Looking For

  • Students in grades 7-12 who are interested in learning about the political process and pro-life advocacy.
  • Willingness to participate on a chosen date (9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) and engage in educational sessions and lobbying opportunities.
  • Ability to register for the event and participate in the day’s activities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Lunch provided with a nominal $20 suggested donation per person, covering the cost of lunch.
  • MCCL provides adult supervision during the program.
