About the Role Join Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects as a Structures Representative/Bridge Engineer in the California transit sector. You will supervise the structural portion of roadway projects onsite with clients, ensuring safety, compliance with Caltrans standards, and efficient project delivery. This role blends engineering expertise with field leadership to help modernize transportation infrastructure. What You'll Do
- Represent the client by supervising the structures portion of the project to ensure safe and efficient progression
- Verify via inspection and documentation that roadway/bridge work conforms to Caltrans Standards, Specifications, Construction Manual, Local Assistance Procedures manual, and related guidelines
- Use engineering judgment to evaluate structures construction compliance with plans, specs, standard plans, and standard specifications
- Report directly to the Resident Engineer and/or Structure Representative, providing technical expertise for the structural portion of roadway work
- Read and interpret project plans, shop drawings, specifications, permits, and other contract documents (e.g., Falsework or shoring systems)
- Generate and/or review contract change orders and RFIs related to structure items
- Review contractor submittals related to structure items and ensure proper filing of documentation
- Coordinate and/or perform quality testing of the structure work
- Function and operate effectively in a team environment
- Work onsite at the client site with occasional day and night shifts; some in-person collaboration time What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering
- EIT certification required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in roadway or highway inspection including bridge structures, retaining walls, sound walls, drainage, and temporary support systems such as bridge falsework or shoring
- Minimum 2 years as lead worker in structure construction and inspection
- Minimum 2 years of experience on CALTRANS roadway/bridge construction projects and standard construction methodology
- Minimum 3 years of experience with CALTRANS practices and procedures & Construction Manuals Nice to Have
- PE Registration in the State of California
- CMIT, ACI, NICET, APWA certifications
- Demonstrated ability to direct and supervise field construction activities and staff, office engineering, inspection, materials testing, and contract administration; ability to liaison with clients/owners, consultants, contractors, design professionals and regulatory agencies
- Strong knowledge of pertinent contract documents and ability to interpret and make sound engineering determinations regarding structure work
- Proven ability to resolve discrepancies or problems with contract documents Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $125,000 - $200,000 per year (USD)
- Onsite work with clients; mix of day and night shifts; some in-person collaboration
