In order to support the Engineering Team, Airbus Aerostructures is looking for a Structural Analysis Engineer for Metal (d/f/m).
In our Site Engineering MAP (Mise au point) Stress department in Hamburg you have the chance to work on a regular basis directly at the aircraft! We support production from the first metal cut to fuselage delivery to the Final Assembly Line. As part of our engineering production support team, you will collaborate closely with designers and production staff to solve non-conformities, define structural repairs, and drive digitization in our ways of working. We hope to welcome you soon to make our products even better and more sustainable.
This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.
Your location
You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.

Your tasks and responsibilities
- Validate structural concessions for primary/secondary structure by stress signature delegation (can be obtained in the first years) for metal and composite structures (Static, F&DT).
- Provide technical support and take on-the-spot decisions during ongoing major component assembly and rate ramp-up in Hamburg to unblock manufacturing.
- Define structural repairs to restore airworthiness, considering design principles, certification, safety requirements, processes, and methods.
- Make final technical decisions on aircraft structure with safety as paramount while ensuring production efficiency.
- Analyze and approve production improvement modifications regarding stress using Airbus verification methods.
- Create static verification documents and release airworthiness documents (reports, drawings).
- Assess and prevent non-conformities that potentially impact deliveries and associated milestones.
Desired skills and qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Solid background in aerospace structural analysis (> 8 years), including at least 2 years in aircraft fuselage structural analysis.
- Motivation to obtain a signature delegation if not already existent.
- Good knowledge of FEM tools (e.g., NASTRAN, Hyperworks) and familiarity with Airbus tools (ISSY, ISAMI) as an advantage.
- Assertive project ownership skills paired with strong collaborative mindset for cross-functional teamwork.
- Fluency in English; German language skills (or willingness to learn) are an advantage.
- Openness to digitalization and programming experience as a benefit.
