Job title: Strategy & Planning Specialist
About the Role This role reports directly to the President as a hands-on contributor, responsible for collecting and analyzing performance, market, competitive, product, and supply chain data to enable timely and accurate decision-making. You will collaborate with Finance, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations to visualize and present insights for executive leadership.
What You'll Do
- Business Data Collection & Consolidation: collect data from Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations; organize revenue, gross profit, sales quantity, product-by-product results, forecast, inventory, stockouts, and supply status; resolve data differences and present clearly for the President.
- Business Performance Analysis: analyze drivers of revenue, gross profit, quantities, price, mix, and inventory; explain Plan/Forecast/Actual variances; conduct simple analyses by product/department/customer/region as needed.
- Market & Competitor Research Support: gather market trends, competitive information, pricing trends, product trends, and customer/agent data; combine internal and external data to support market understanding; perform basic analyses of market share/competitive position under supervisor.
- Executive Materials / Presentation Support: create/update PowerPoint materials and Excel analyses for executive meetings; prepare materials in Japanese/English as needed.
- Planning & Forecast Support: support AOP, Forecast, Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews; coordinate with Finance and Commercial teams; organize actions, issues, and follow-ups after meetings.
- Cross-functional Coordination: collaborate with Finance, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations to gather required information quickly; improve decision speed through cross-functional data management.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in strategy planning, business planning, sales planning, marketing planning, Commercial Excellence, FP&A, consulting, or data analysis.
- 2–4 years (P2) or 4+ years (P3) of related experience.
- Excel data organization and analysis; PowerPoint for management materials; ability to coordinate across multiple departments to collect and consolidate information.
- Skills in Excel (functions, pivot tables, basic data analysis); PowerPoint for concise management-ready materials; strong logical thinking, numerical ability, and information整理 skills; ability to extract information from stakeholders.
- Languages: Japanese native; English business level.
Nice to Have
- Experience in medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or B2B businesses; understanding of Forecast, AOP, Business Review, KPI management.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL; understanding of agency/distributor/supply-chain type businesses.
