Job title: Storeroom Keeper
About the Role The Storeroom Keeper will support the chemistry storeroom operations at Villanova, maintaining inventory, preparing materials for labs, and ensuring safety procedures are followed. This on-campus student position provides hands-on experience in lab support and inventory management.
What You'll Do
- Clean and set up labs, issue and receive equipment
- File, deliver items to other departments, and perform other office duties as required
- Enter data to track and maintain storeroom chemicals and oversee storeroom security
- Supervise and assist with chemical check-out process
- Prepare small and safe reagents and supply them for labs (1103, 1108; e.g., Zinc & Copper strips)
- Prepare disposable pipettes for experiments
- Serve as the first visible contact trained on safety procedures and coordinate with the on-duty safety officer
- Training will be provided; perform additional tasks as needed
What We're Looking For
- Student enrolled at Villanova University; work-study preferred but open to all students
- Availability: up to 20 hours/week with courses, up to 40 hours/week without
- Some lifting required; ability to perform physical tasks
- Basic data entry and inventory management skills
- Willingness to learn safety procedures and lab operations
- Good organizational and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with storeroom/inventory management or lab support
- Familiarity with safety protocols in a chemistry setting
- Ability to manage chemicals inventory and check-out processes
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage Rate: $11.25 per hour
- Training provided
