- Duties Summary
The Storekeeper I is responsible for:

the day-to-day operation of a large storeroom and/or warehouse and open storage areas including the receipt, storage, issuance and stock level maintenance of a wide variety of materials, supplies and equipment, requiring judgment in recommending appropriate substitutes;

adjusting replenishment levels according to seasonal demands;
-
resolving other problems not clearly covered by established policies or procedures, may also have direct responsibility for an extensive surplus property storage disposal operation, and coordinate the possible reutilization of such property; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Legal Authorization to Work Requirement:
- The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Experience

Graduation from high school or equivalent; or work experience (paid or unpaid), education, training or any combination thereof which demonstrated the ability to read and understand detailed but routine instructions or procedures; compare words and numbers quickly and accurately and perform mathematical calculations including multiplication and division.

Specialized Experience
-
SIX MONTHS of clerical work experience which demonstrated knowledge of arithmetic, including multiplication and division; and the ability to follow oral and written instructions, carry out procedures in clerical work systems, speak and write simply and directly, and compare words and numbers quickly and accurately.

ONE AND ONE-HALF (1 1/2) YEARS of clerical work experience which demonstrated knowledge of storekeeping practices, methods and procedures, and inventory recordkeeping procedures.

Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements may apply.

Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.

Special Requirements

Applicants must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
