The STEM Center at Gannon University in Erie, PA is seeking a Tutor focused on Environmental Science and Engineering. This role supports Gannon students by guiding them through their STEM coursework, enriching their understanding and academic performance, and contributing to a flexible, student-centered schedule. Responsibilities

Tutor peers in STEM subject material for which you are qualified to cover

May seek or perform other necessary STEM Center work, with approval

Participate in initial and ongoing training; paid training is likely required

Maintain a regular paid guaranteed shift each week (approximately 3 hours, typically in the late afternoon to early evening, such as 4–7 PM, Sunday–Thursday)

Work during the shift on tutoring, preparation/training, and other tasks to support the STEM Center and university stakeholders

Establish additional on-call tutoring availability within library hours (paid for actual tutoring appointments only; up to about 3 additional hours if appointments are held, with potential for more but not guaranteed)

There is typically one tutor per major (one per set of similar majors) for each area traditionally served by the STEM Center

- Oral/Written Communication: Clearly explain complex ideas to students and interact with coworkers and STEM Center management; may involve class speaking, student outreach, and representing the STEM Center at events; may require emails, phone calls, or other communications on behalf of the STEM Center
