Gannon University is seeking a STEM Center Tutor in Erie, PA for students pursuing Bus/Mktg/Mgmt majors. The role supports Gannon students by helping them overcome academic hurdles and sharing enthusiasm for their courses, with a flexible schedule that enables meaningful, hands-on tutoring and center activities while making a positive impact on campus.
Responsibilities
- Tutor peers in STEM subject material for which you are qualified
- May take on additional STEM Center work with approval
- Complete initial and ongoing paid training as required
- Maintain a regular paid, guaranteed shift each week (typically 3 hours, late afternoon to early evening such as 4–7 PM, Sunday–Thursday)
- During the regular shift, tutor, prepare, train, support the STEM Center and its stakeholders, or perform other tasks benefiting the University
- Establish additional on-call tutoring availability within library hours (paid for actual tutoring appointments; up to about 3 additional hours if appointments are held; more hours may be possible but cannot be guaranteed)
- Each major traditionally served by the STEM Center will have one tutor per major group to support relevant students
- Leverage the position to develop skills in critical thinking, problem solving, communication, teamwork, digital technology, leadership, professionalism, career management, and global/intercultural fluency through interactions with students, coworkers, and management
