About the Role
The University of the Pacific's Harold S. Jacoby Center, in partnership with Stockton Unified School District, provides after-school STEAM activities for elementary students enrolled in ELOP. This temporary role involves actively guiding a group of 15-20 students, delivering science or arts-focused lessons, and maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment. What You'll Do

Actively guide, teach, and lead a group of 15-20 elementary students in STEAM activities.

Maintain a safe learning environment and address behavior issues as needed.

Plan, create, implement, and submit lesson plans focused on science or art.

Establish rules, routines, and expectations; communicate effectively; serve as a positive role model.

Adhere to dress code and policy procedures; review and submit timesheets.

Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; Forty-eight (48) completed college units or Paraprofessional Certificate or Paraprofessional Proficiency Passing Test Letter; Able to clear Fingerprint Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications: Available during program hours; Science or Art concentration; Experience in Coding or Theatre/Drama; Basic Behavioral Management experience; One year or more of experience working with elementary students; Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; Ability to work with others; Ability to work independently; Science or Art experience; Ability to engage students in activities; Creativity or Coding skills; Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures; Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting; Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
