Job title: Static Equipment Engineer - Bangalore

About the Role Static equipment engineering support for Pressure Vessels & Heat Exchangers in Bangalore, including Operating Asset support and Project Engineering surveillance. This role provides technical leadership across projects and manufacturing operations to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of upstream and downstream facilities.

What You'll Do

  • Supports static equipment engineering needs across ExxonMobil projects and/or producing/manufacturing operations.
  • Stewardship of engineering support center service quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Technical leadership (formal or informal) in projects and/or producing/manufacturing operations; apply broad technical and business skills to solve complex problems.
  • Conducts detailed technical evaluations addressing equipment and system design, operation, and maintenance; provides engineering input to Root Cause Failure Analyses.
  • Reviews project and contractor deliverables for compliance with project specifications, Design Practices, Static Equipment Toolkit guidance, and best practices; documents may include P&IDs, equipment arrangements, data sheets, vendor proposals, and technical studies.
  • Participates in design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs/HAZIDs, vendor qualification, and vendor bid evaluations as requested.
  • Coordinates communication between India-based technical support contractors and ExxonMobil projects/operations, including teleconferences and reporting.
  • Collaborates across technical disciplines and site operations to develop pragmatic solutions; maintains discipline documentation; mentors early-career professionals; identifies cross-functional opportunities; grows the discipline's technical expertise; participates in industry conferences.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience with operating pressure vessels and heat exchangers, including equipment selection, sizing, design, installation, preservation, commissioning, startup, operation, surveillance, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrading, and decommissioning.
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree with 70% or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, LNG, or related industries; at least 3 years in static equipment engineering operation or design and coordination of surveillance/inspection activities.
  • Broad knowledge of industry design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria (ASME Code Section VIII Div 1&2, API 660, 661, 662, 620, 650, 653; TEMA, ALPEMA, NBIC) and materials properties for common construction materials (carbon steel, low chrome and nickel alloys, austenitic stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, nickel-based alloys such as Inconel).
  • Experience with vessel and heat exchanger analysis programs PV Elite and HTRI.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with engineering disciplines (Process, Rotating Equipment, Materials) and to understand and support client needs.
  • Onshore and offshore facilities design experience; direct experience working onsite in oil & gas facilities.
  • Participated in Layout Model Reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs, design reviews, risk assessments, vendor qualification, and vendor bid evaluations as requested.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, communicate effectively, and work across teams to deliver results.
