About the Role International Paper seeks a Starter at its Newton, NC facility. This role supports production by counting and stacking finished products, reading factory orders and gauges, performing basic shop math, and ensuring quality and accurate documentation. The position also includes machine-area cleanup and light lifting as part of daily duties, with shift schedules including 2nd shift and possible weekends.
What You'll Do
- Counting and stacking finished product
- Reading factory orders
- Accurately reading gauges and other test equipment
- Utilizing basic shop math, including reading a tape measure
- Completing quality and administrative documents and following directions
- Clean-up duties: blowing down the machine, wiping shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area, shredding scrap
- Physical requirements: bending, stooping, twisting, pushing and pulling, light lifting up to 25 lbs but not to exceed 50 lbs

- Being punctual and ready to work for scheduled shifts
- Ability and desire to work safely and follow safety procedures, including use of PPE as required
- Ability to read a standard tape measure
- Ability to add and subtract all units of measure, read, copy, count and record figures
- Ability to read factory orders
- Ability to stand, walk and reach at or below shoulder level with frequent twisting, bending and lifting from the ground; repetitive lifting
- Ability to work daily and Saturday overtime as business conditions require
- Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Willingness to work 2nd shift
- Applicant must successfully complete pre-employment health assessment, drug screen, and background check
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay starting at $21.33/hour; opportunity to advance to pay range $22.74/hour to $26.25/hour
