Job title: Start-Up Specialist II
Section: About the Role
- The Start-Up Specialist II will focus on field execution of start-up activities within a specific technical discipline, such as Rotating Machinery, Electrical, Process, Document Control Services (DCS), or Instrumentation.
- The role involves collaborating with project teams, affiliate operations, and contractors to ensure safe and effective start-up planning and execution while meeting project safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
Section: Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Start-Up Coordinator and Start-Up Manager to ensure Operational Excellence (OE) and Incident and Injury-Free (IIF) expectations are met.
- Support the Start-Up Manager in developing and executing the project Start-Up Plan.
- Provide unit-specific expertise during planning and support production coordinators during start-up.
- Serve as the focal point for coordination with Operations, Integrated Commissioning, and Facility Engineering Teams to ensure safe and effective planning and execution of start-up activities.
- Develop and execute downstream start-up procedures to ensure the safe and efficient start-up of integrated project assets.
- Perform all Level 1 tasks and responsibilities in addition to the Level 2 duties outlined above.
Section: Requirements
- Previous experience in a closely related position.
- Discipline-appropriate certification(s) or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in Work Management Systems.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to describe field conditions clearly and concisely and recommend remediation steps.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with people over whom there may be no direct authority.
- Willingness to assist others.
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
- Knowledge of project completions activities and standard commissioning practices, including Systems Completion Database software such as WinPCS, MC+, CoConsole, or Orbit.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
