About the Role Databricks is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead Security Infrastructure within Trust & Safety. You will help define the vision and strategy to keep customer data safe and enable the data/AI platform to scale securely.
What You'll Do
- Lead and architect security infrastructure initiatives across the Data & AI platform
- Identify gaps in infrastructure and services and drive security improvements
- Represent the security engineering discipline across the organization and evangelize data security to senior leaders
- Represent Databricks at academic and industry conferences and events
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable, secure systems
- Mentor and lead engineers and drive security culture across teams
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas with expertise in at least two domains (e.g., Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Authentication, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection and Response)
- 10+ years building large-scale distributed systems with high availability
- Leadership skills to lead across functional and organizational lines
- Strong communication skills to explain and evangelize Data Security to senior leaders
- Bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality solutions
- MS or PhD in Computer Science or related field
Nice to Have
- Experience building systems at large-scale internet companies is a huge plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Local pay range: $221,200—$241,100 USD
- Eligible for annual performance bonus, equity, and standard benefits
