About the Role
Join Navan's Expense Platform team in Berlin as a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and evolution of distributed systems powering the full expense lifecycle—from expense creation and approvals to reimbursements and financial reconciliation. You will partner with engineering leaders, product managers, designers, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive technical strategy, platform scalability, and reliability for a seamless, global expense experience. What You'll Do
- Lead the design and evolution of distributed systems powering the full expense lifecycle, including expense creation, approvals, reimbursements, and financial reconciliation.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders, product managers, designers, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive technical strategy, platform scalability, and reliability for global expense management.
- Build and operate scalable, reliable services that deliver seamless expense and travel experiences at global scale. What We're Looking For
- Experience designing and evolving distributed systems powering core business workflows (expense lifecycle) and platform services.
- Ability to partner with cross-functional teams to align technical strategy with business goals.
- Demonstrated ability to drive platform scalability, reliability, and velocity in a fast-paced environment.
