About the Role Databricks is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead IAM security initiatives as part of the Trust & Safety organization. The role focuses on vision, strategy, and execution to strengthen data security across Databricks' platform and services. You will help shape the security engineering discipline and partner with teams to keep customer data safe while enabling innovation.
What You'll Do
- Lead the vision and strategy for IAM security within Databricks' security engineering discipline.
- Identify and plug key gaps in infrastructure and services to improve data security.
- Represent Security Engineering across the organization and evangelize data security to senior leaders.
- Represent Databricks at academic and industry conferences and events.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas with expertise in two or more of: Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust, Safety, Authentication, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response.
- 10+ years of experience building large scale distributed systems with high availability.
- Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to lead across functional and organizational lines.
- Excellent communication and ability to evangelize Data Security to senior leaders.
- MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field.
Nice to Have
- Experience building systems at large scale internet companies is a huge plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Local Pay Range $181,300—$261,000 USD per year.
- The total compensation package may include annual performance bonus, equity, and listed benefits.
