Job title: Staff Software Engineer - IAM
About the Role Databricks is building a trusted data and AI platform. This Staff Software Engineer - IAM within Trust & Safety will define security strategy, drive the vision for security engineering, and help make Databricks safer for customers by identifying gaps in infrastructure and services, while representing the security discipline across the organization and at conferences.
What You'll Do
- Define and drive the vision and strategy for IAM/security engineering within Trust & Safety.
- Identify and close gaps in infrastructure and services to improve security and resilience.
- Represent the security engineering discipline throughout the organization and at academic/industry events.
- Lead across functional and organizational lines and help attract top talent.
- Evangelize Data Security to senior leaders with clear communication and impactful storytelling.
- Contribute to building and operating large-scale, high-availability security systems.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas, with expertise in two or more of: Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust & Safety, Authentication, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response.
- 10+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability.
- Leadership skills and experience to lead across functional and organizational lines.
- Strong communication skills to explain and evangelize Data Security to senior leaders.
- Bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
- MS or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
Nice to Have
- Experience building systems at large-scale internet companies is a huge plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Local Pay Range: USD 190,900—USD 274,700. The total compensation may also include annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
