Job title: Staff Software Engineer
About the Role The Staff Software Engineer will lead development and implementation of application and systems software within the product line, developing, debugging, and verifying software components to enhance functionality and integrate system features.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and development of complex software systems across multiple components
- Define technical approach and influence architectural decisions
- Drive system-level design ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Lead cross-team collaboration and align engineering efforts with product goals
- Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and design guidelines
- Review design and code across teams to ensure quality and consistency
- Mentor engineers across teams and contribute to organization-wide capability building
- Handle ambiguous and high-impact technical problems
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across teams and systems
- Comply with GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, and applicable standards; complete planned Quality & Compliance training; identify and report quality or compliance concerns and take corrective action; support regulatory/quality requirements
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 12–15 years of software development experience
- Experience with software development lifecycle and testing methodologies
- Strong experience in object-oriented design and programming languages (C++, C#, or similar)
- Experience in application development, debugging, and performance optimization
- Business-level English communication skills for global collaboration
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience in application development using modern frameworks and development tools
- Experience in integrating AI/ML models into applications
- Experience with API development and systems integration
