Staff Software Engineer - Fullstack

About the Role Databricks is hiring a Staff Software Engineer - Fullstack in Vancouver to help build the data and AI platform customers rely on. You will work with your team and product management to own the full scope of the product and user experience, beyond just the technical implementation, and set the foundation for robust, scalable, and delightful products. Vancouver will be the newest R&D center for Databricks, driving product innovation.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with product management to design and implement front-end and back-end features that deliver actionable data insights.
• Own the full user experience, including UI/UX, performance, and reliability, across web technologies.
• Contribute to large-scale distributed systems and platform components (k8s, networking, apps runtime) as part of Databricks Apps and other teams.
• Work with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js/Ember) and server-side tech (Node.js, Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++, Go).
• Leverage cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Translate multi-year product visions into incremental, value-driven deliverables.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; passion for user experience and design; strong front-end architecture.
• Comfortable working towards a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables; customer value focus.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, VueJs/Ember).
• 10+ years of experience with server-side web technologies (e.g., Node.js, Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++, Go).
• Good knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience developing large-scale distributed systems.

Compensation & Benefits

• Canada Pay Range: CAD 173,400—238,350 per year. Databricks offers a comprehensive benefits package; details by region may vary.
