About the Role As a Staff Software Engineer on Factorial's DX and Performance team, you will focus on performance, reliability, observability, load testing, and AI-assisted engineering workflows to improve the quality, scalability, and efficiency of Factorial's product. You’ll collaborate across the engineering organization to define service health, standardize observability, and apply AI-driven insights to speed up engineering decisions. What You'll Do
- Help increase Factorial’s quality, performance, and scalability by improving how we build our product and by strengthening our tooling and foundational elements.
- Promote best practices and collaborate closely with other engineers to remove obstacles, complete migrations, reduce tech debt, and raise the engineering bar.
- Define service health metrics, measure system behavior, standardize observability, and validate systems under load, leveraging AI-assisted workflows to help engineers act faster.
- Work across teams to implement robust, scalable solutions and contribute to a culture of quality, confidence, and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively within a 200+ engineer organization and mentor others where appropriate. What We're Looking For
- Curious, proactive, technically strong, and effective communicator.
- Experience with performance, reliability, observability, load testing, and AI-enabled tooling.
- Ability to collaborate across teams to improve software patterns, remove obstacles, complete migrations, reduce tech debt, and raise the overall engineering bar.
