About the Role Join the Agentic Applications team at Databricks as a Staff Software Engineer to lead end-to-end, AI-powered internal applications that empower our employees and improve business workflows. You will define the technical roadmap, design critical systems, mentor junior engineers, and serve as the technical owner for your team's software. What You'll Do
- Define the technical strategy and roadmap for building in-house solutions for critical internal workflows.
- Partner closely with product management, design, and other engineering teams to build end-to-end, AI-powered solutions.
- Eliminate technical risk by solving the most challenging issues and tackling complex development tasks.
- Drive engineering excellence through design quality, operational reviews, testing strategies, and incident management.
- Be the technical leader for a team of software engineers and mentor junior engineers. What We're Looking For
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of technical leadership and impact.
- 3+ years of engineering leadership experience, serving as the technical owner for your team's software systems.
- Experience designing and building end-to-end, full-stack cloud-native applications.
- Customer obsession and product engineering mindset.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
- History of raising the engineering quality bar, with a focus on execution and operational rigor.
- Strong ability to collaborate across product, engineering, and business teams to align technical strategy with company objectives.
- Passion for the data intelligence space. Nice to Have
- Mentoring junior engineers and developing technical talent.

- Local Pay Range: $192,000—$260,000 USD per year.
- This role may be eligible for annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
