About the Role The Staff Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure at Instacart will help design and scale our data platform in a collaborative, hybrid work environment. This role focuses on building reliable data infrastructure that enables high-quality analytics and decision-making across the company. What You'll Do
- Build, maintain, and scale data infrastructure and pipelines to support analytics and product engineering teams.
- Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and software teams to implement robust data systems, tooling, and governance.
- Mentor junior engineers, influence engineering culture, and help drive reliability, performance, and security in data platforms. What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a senior software engineer or staff engineer with data infrastructure or platform focus.
- Strong knowledge of data storage, processing, and pipeline technologies (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes, streaming, ETL).
- Experience with cloud platforms, distributed systems, observability, CI/CD, and performance optimization.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to work in a hybrid/remote environment.
