About the Role Join Databricks as a Backend-focused Staff Software Engineer. You will work with your team to build infrastructure and products for the Databricks platform at scale, tackling challenges across distributed systems, at-scale service architecture, monitoring, workflow orchestration, and developer experience. You will deliver reliable, high-performance services and client libraries for storing and accessing large data on cloud storage backends and contribute to pricing infrastructure powering millions of cluster-hours per day.
What You'll Do
- Build infrastructure and products for the Databricks platform at scale.
- Work on backend domains spanning product to infrastructure including distributed systems, at-scale service architecture and monitoring, workflow orchestration, and developer experience.
- Deliver reliable and high-performance services and client libraries for storing and accessing large data on cloud storage backends.
- Build reliable, scalable services to power the pricing infrastructure that serves millions of cluster-hours per day and develop product features that empower customers to easily view and control platform usage.
What We're Looking For
- BS (or higher) in Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of production-level experience in Java, Scala, C++, or a similar language.
- Experience developing large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures.
- Good knowledge of SQL.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Scala, Kubernetes, and data pipelines.
