About this role
Retool is seeking a Staff Product Manager, Automation in San Francisco to define and scale the next generation of automation. You will help shape Retool’s automation capabilities—from workflows and integrations to AI-driven agents—and expand the platform beyond internal apps toward end-to-end process orchestration.
Responsibilities

Define and scale the next generation of automation at Retool, leading the evolution of automation capabilities including workflows, integrations, and AI-driven agents.

Expand the platform beyond internal apps into end-to-end process orchestration.

Operate in a highly ambiguous, fast-moving space by forming a strong point of view on where automation and AI are heading, identifying the highest-leverage product bets, and driving them from early concept through customer adoption.

Work at the intersection of platform, developer experience, and applied AI, helping shape automation as a core pillar of Retool’s product strategy.

Decide when AI should act autonomously, where humans stay in the loop, and how teams debug, trust, and scale automated systems.

Tackle open-ended problems with a large surface area and foundational impact to Retool’s platform strategy.

You’ll join Retool’s Product team, collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and go-to-market leaders to build the future of internal software. The team is senior, fast-moving, and deeply technical, with experience across high-growth startups and large organizations.
