About the Role Marvell's optics DCI firmware team is looking for a firmware engineer to develop embedded software for high-speed coherent fiber transceivers used for Data Center Interconnects. You will participate in requirements, design and verification across cross-functional teams.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate and define the DCI product firmware feature requirements.
- Design, implement and optimize DCI FW features and make it reusable for other products.
- Perform failure analysis using various tools and equipment; identify, duplicate and fix issues.
- Collaborate with Application, DVT, Hardware and Architecture teams on requirements, analysis and improvements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years memory-constrained embedded systems development.
- 3+ years firmware development on device drivers and peripherals (I2C, I3C, SPI).
- Strong programming skills in C and Python.
- Good understanding of RTOS.
- Embedded SoC/microcontroller architecture (RISC-V a plus), memory-mapped interfaces, GPIOs, ISRs.
- Hardware schematics understanding; lab equipment familiarity (oscilloscope, multimeter, power supplies, logic analyzer, JTAG).
- Strong problem-solving and customer debug skills; excellent communication.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Optical Transceivers, Coherent DSP, laser and optical components, PID control.
- Linux device driver development, software state machines, context saving, error handling.
- Knowledge of OIF CMIS, OSFP, SFP, optics; git, Makefile, gdb, IDEs, bash.
- Signal processing knowledge such as histograms, BER, SNR, FFT, etc.
Compensation & Benefits
- Expected Base Pay Range (CAD): 98,100 - 130,800 per annum.
