Staff Facility Engineer (Electrical )

A Staff Facility Engineer (Electrical) in Qualcomm Singapore leads safe and compliant operation and maintenance of electrical infrastructure, maintains accurate technical documentation, and collaborates with Engineering, Operations, and EHS on regulatory compliance. The role drives risk and safety programs, change management, and audit readiness, and oversees reliability, capacity planning, project commissioning, and energy performance initiatives to minimize downtime and optimize power quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain electrical infrastructure safely and in compliance with standards. Establish and control MOS/SOPs with strong change management; maintain accurate technical documentation. Partner with Engineering, Operations, and EHS on regulatory compliance. Drive risk and safety programs (FMEA, LOTO, arc flash, permits) and ensure audit readiness.
• Drive root cause analysis for electrical disturbances and lead predictive and preventive maintenance programs to strengthen system reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Plan and manage electrical load models across fab and facilities operations; ensure proper feeder loading, redundancy, and diversity. Review and approve designs while overseeing safe energization and commissioning.
• Define acceptance criteria and test protocols; witness critical tests. Manage vendor performance and ensure documentation close-out (O&Ms, as-builts).
• Monitor power quality and deploy mitigations (filters, SEMI F47 ride-through, UPS tuning). Lead energy efficiency projects (e.g., transformer loading optimization, UPS efficiency, busway losses, smart metering analytics).

Requirements

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of related work experience in Electrical Engineering within wafer fab/semiconductor environments.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing of electronics components in an MNC or semiconductor industry.
• Direct working experience in wafer fab facilities is an added advantage.
• Strong technical competencies in the field; ability to work under pressure with a strong work commitment.
• Proficiency with software applications such as MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Good knowledge of wafer fab facilities and the ability to apply them effectively at work.
• Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Systematic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills using methods such as cause-and-effect analysis and 5 Whys.
• Dynamic, resourceful, creative, innovative, and self-driven with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to organize work to identify root causes. Ability to manage changes effectively.
